Plans are underway for the 34th annual ALBERT GALLATIN REGATTA. Mark your calendars for May 25 and 26 and join us at the Point Marion Community Park for a fun filled family celebration to kick off summertime!
Held almost every Memorial Day Weekend since 1979, the two day event begins on Saturday morning at 10 AM at Evergreen Cemetery with a patriotic tribute to area veterans. Following a wreath laying ceremony at the Cheat River Bridge, a spectacular parade will wind through downtown and end at the park on South Main Street. Afternoon events include the Lil Miss Pageant, the Lil Mister Pageant, and crowning of the Regatta Queen. Civil War re-enactors will be camped at the park, and kayakers will put in at the public dock for a paddle to Greensboro.
On Sunday you won’t want to miss the Classic Car Show, the late afternoon 5K Walk/Run, or the evening fireworks extravaganza. Children under 12 can participate in a fishing contest, and athletes can sign up for the basketball tournament.
There will be vendors selling delicious food, beautiful handcrafts, and unique merchandise. There will be music, games and activities. There will be exciting new attractions for all ages.

The Regatta is a free activity for our community. However, the cost to operate the Regatta runs into several thousand dollars.
