POINT MARION BOROUGH
FEBRUARY 19, 2014
CALL TO ORDER: The Regular Meeting of the Point Marion Borough Council was called to order by President DuBois at 7:04 PM. A moment of silence was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL: President DuBois, Vice President Reynolds, Councilwomen Shaffer, Evans, Councilmen Kaczmarczyk, White, Kelley and Mayor Ables present. Roll call showed, all present.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: No Report
PUBLIC COMMENTS: None
MINUTES: Council reviewed the minutes of the February 5, 2014 that were provided prior to this meeting. A correction of the February 26th instead of February 16th for the Meet with the Council. A motion by Councilwoman Evans and second by Councilman Kaczmarczyk to accept the minutes as corrected. Motion Carried.
MAYOR’S REPORT: No Report but he stated that we need to have an Executive Session for personnel later in the meeting.
SECRETARY/TREASURER/BOROUGH MANAGER’S REPORT: Mr. Strimel stated that he had nothing to report for the Secretary or Borough Manager’s Report, so he proceeded to the Treasurer and Budget Reports for January. A motion by Vice President Reynolds and second by Councilman Kelley to accept the Treasurer and Budget Reports for January. Motion Carried.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Mr. Grimm had received some questions on the Rental Ordinance and has reviewed those items and discussed some concerns on the part of landlords and tenants. He will make these additions and hopefully have the Final Draft of the Ordinance at the next meeting for approval and authorization to advertise the Ordinance for approval.
COMMITTEE REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:
BUILDING AND GROUNDS: No Report
SOLID WASTE COLLECTION/RYCLING: No Report
GRANTS/COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENTS: Councilwoman Evans stated the next Regatta Meeting would be February 24th and the Meet with the Council will be February 26th. She will meet with Ella Belling and the Rail Trail Conservancy dealing with the Sheepskin Trail. She will meet with Donna Holdorph and Traid Engineering for Financial and Time Frame planning.

PARK: Councilwoman Evans reported on the Park Commission meeting held last Wednesday, they began making plans for the upcoming Park season.
POLICE: No Report
STREETS: Mr. Strimel reported on the streets and stated that our salt and anti-skid material should be sufficient to get us to the end of the winter season. He also stated that the potholes will be addressed as soon as the weather warms up enough to work with. In the meantime they will be monitored and filled with stone.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS: None
A motion by Councilman White and second by Councilman Evans to go into an Executive Session for personnel reasons at 8:12 PM. Motion Carried.
A motion by Vice President and second by Councilman White to return to the Regular Session at 8:36 PM. Motion Carried.
President DuBois stated no action would be taken as a result of the Executive Session.
ADJOURNMENT: Having no other business to come before Council, a motion by Councilwoman Shaffer and second by Councilman Kaczmarczyk to adjourn the meeting at 8:39 PM. Motion Carried.
