CALL TO ORDER: The Regular Meeting of the Point Marion Borough Council was called to order by President DuBois at 7:00pm. A moment of silence was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL: President DuBois, Vice President Reynolds, Councilwoman Evans, Councilmen Kaczmarczyk, Kelley present and Councilwoman Shaffer and Mayor Ables absent. All present or accounted for, a quorum present.
ENGINEER’S REPORT: Mr. Strimel gave a brief progress report for the Water Line Project stating that all cement work is complete and all that is left is to get permission to blacktop the area at the bottom of Union Street, Stewartstown Road and Walnut Street. The weather has been the biggest holdup this past week.
PUBLIC COMMENT: Mike Glover reported that the Softball League has been sanctioned by BOPARK in Morgantown. This enables them to acquire low cost insurance for the players and next year will be a state qualifier that will expand benefits.
READING OF THE MINUTES: Council reviewed the minutes of the May 21st Regular Meeting that were provided to them prior to this meeting. Having no additions or corrections, a motion by Councilwoman Evans and second by Vice President Reynolds to accept the minutes as presented. Motion Carried.
MAYOR’S REPORT: None
SECRETARY/TREASURER/BOROUGH MANAGER’S REPORT: Mr. Strimel reported on the water line condition of the east side of Morgantown Street. There have been numerous leaks on that line and the last leak, our employees had to replace about 90 feet of pipe. We need to install another 180 feet and replace the sidewalk. He has estimates of around $ 9,000.00 to replace the rest of the pipe and replace the sidewalk. A motion by Vice President Reynolds and second by Councilman Kelley to approve up to $ 9,500.00 to complete the water line on the east side of Morgantown Street and replace the sidewalk. Roll call showed all in favor, motion carried by unanimous vote.

Regular Meeting June 4, 2014
GRANTS/COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Councilwoman Evans stated that the Park Commission will work with the softball league to replace the backstop at the field.
PARK: Need for volunteers to work at the Concession Stand during softball games. The Regatta Committee will have a wrap up meeting on Monday June 16 at 7:000 pm at the Borough Building.
LIBRARY: No Report
POLICE: No Report
STREETS: Work continues on the patching and will be working on storm drops as time allows.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS: At the last Coffee and Conversation Meeting is was suggested that Council recognize residents and businesses for their commitment and service to the community. Will be coming up with a plan and process for this.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: The next Coffee and Conversation Meeting will be Monday June 25th at 7:00pm at the Borough Building. The public meeting with Free Flow Power will be June 10th at 7:00pm at the Firehall.
